Plans to Return to Guyana

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. Matthew 9:37-38
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Isaiah 6:8

Dear Brothers and Sisters In Christ,

Hello! We are the Edwin Family; James, Christine, Kadin and Analise. We are from Three Hills, Alberta Canada, /Guyana South America. In 2013 we served as Volunteer Missionaries in Guyana. We worked at the Davis Indian Industrial College/Paruima Mission Academy; where I taught Evangelism and James worked as the farm manager for the school. In November 2013 James received his Permanent Resident Visa for Canada, which meant we had to leave the project in Paruima. We have been back in Canada for two years now;  and wow has it ever gone by fast! During our time here, James has been working at a Nursing home and has completed his Health Care Aide Certificate, while I’ve been at home with the Children. We have enjoyed being able to spend time with our Family and Friends here.

We are writing to share some exciting news with you!  We feel God is calling us back to Paruima Village in Guyana as missionaries! Recently we have been praying and asking God for wisdom and guidance concerning His plans for our future. Shortly after we began to pray about this, the Administrators of DIIC/PMA contacted  us in September, and asked how soon we could come back! They are very short on help and have expressed their desire for us to join them as soon as possible! We are thrilled at the idea of returning to a place we both love so much!

Paruima Mission Academy has been running for three years now (in place of Davis Indian Industrial College - same people and project, just ministering to a slightly younger student population). PMA is desperate for teachers and the needs in Paruima are so near to our hearts that we have answered the call to serve there once again.

Our plan is to move our family back to Paruima for a 3 year commitment. James will be helping with the farm once again as well as with construction and I will be teaching 1 or 2 Bible classes. Being at the school provides a wonderful opportunity to minister in the village through the young people. We will be staying on campus, in a house that is currently being constructed.

We are so happy to share this news with you, and are excited to share many stories in the future of how God is working in Guyana. We are asking you to join us as a prayer partner as we embark on this next chapter of our lives. Your prayers are what will keep us going.

If you feel led to help financially we would be very blessed, as we are going as self-supporting volunteers and will not be receiving a stipend. All our support comes from donors interested in seeing the Work go forward in Guyana.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support,

In His Service,
James, Christine, Kadin and Analise
